'L'Île de jamais trop tard' ('The island of never too late') is a large-scale co-commission from the newly created 'Consortium Créatif' led by the Orchestre National de Bretagne, with the Orchestre National Avignon-Provence, Orchestre National de Cannes, the Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse, Orchestre de Picardie, and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. The orchestral work for family audiences - written with author Stéphane Michaka and pianist Vanessa Wagner - will be premiered in the Seine Musicale, Paris in March 2023, and then performed by each of the co-commissioning partners in subsequent concert seasons.

Commissioned by the Royal Opera House in collaboration with Casco Phil and Curated Place, and written with librettist Sophia Chapajiev, 'The Parting Place' is a site-specific micro-opera, that invites bystanders to overhear a private moment in a public space. The micro-opera was premiered at St. Pancras International Station in March 2022 as part of the 'Lost and Found' project, in celebration of International Women's Day.

BBC NOW: Composer Affiliate

Sarah was appointed BBC National Orchestra of Wales' Composer Affiliate in September 2020, a post that will run until 2024.
During her time at BBC NOW, she will be writing new works for the orchestra, and working with the Creative and Learning department on community projects.

Violinist Mary Hofman and pianist Richard Ormrod released their first CD together through Ty Cerdd Records, highlighting female composers, and highlighting the the three works commissioned through Rhyl Music Club's Beethoven in Wales project, of which 'Until the thread breaks' (2019) was a part.

As Composer Affiliate with BBC NOW, Sarah has been mentoring rising Welsh and Wales-based composers as part of BBC NOW's Composition:Wales scheme, alongside BBC NOW Principal Conductor Ryan Bancroft and BBC NOW Composer-in-Association Gavin Higgins.

Royal Philharmonic Society Composer Programme
2021-22
Sarah was one of the RPS Composers 2021-22, and receiving support and professional development from the Royal Philharmonic Society and their partners, in addition to creating a new work for the Chorus of the Royal Northern Sinfonia.
The new work for the RNS Chorus, 'All my ships are white', was premiered in July 2022, in a series of outdoor concerts in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and the surrounding area.
