Sarah was accepted on to the Adopt a Composer 2012-13 scheme, run by Making Music and funded by PRS for Music Foundation, and run in partnership with Sound and Music, and supported by BBC Radio 3 (who recorded each of the premiere performances).
The Adopt a Composer project is an annual opportunity for an amateur orchestra, choir or band to ‘adopt’ an up-and-coming composer. The composer works with the performing group over the course of 12 months to produce a new piece of music, culminating in a premiere performance.
Sarah was paired with the Bristol Saxophone Ensemble.
Train Tracks, written for the Bristol Saxophone Ensemble through Making Music’s Adopt a Composer project, was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Sunday 12th January.
